A friend is getting a custom axe head made and wants a custom handle. I’m thinking gidgee for that
It would be very heavy. Very very heavy. Also it would likely carry the shock quite far. There is a reason people used ash and hickory for axe handles. They worked really well.

In the other hand, a gidgee handle on an axe would definitely make good conversation. And look amazing. If it’s a hatchet then you could do that. If it isn’t then maybe not.

It’s more a display piece I believe. Gidgee would definitely add some weight 😁

Handle is exactly why I'll get them. Send em my way.
@Mike Hill All yours, thank you. I’ve got some smaller ringed gidgee blocks and figured western mall blocks I hope to put up later today. Are you interested? If so I’ll post them here in this forum and let you have first look/pick. They are the 6”x 2”ish x 1.25” size

Ringed Gidgee $25 each, except one on right has a huge check, so it’s $10

if you need more pics, or exact measurements, or have any questions feel free to ask. I just snapped a few pictures real quick I had to take the wife to a doctors appointment.

Crap - my knees are shaky! I'll take the 3 gidgee on the bottom right, and the 2 Myall on the bottom right, the right middle rare satin box, and the lower left yellow box. If that last gidgee block was only longer, but I will have to pass. If Storm Fern had not happened I would probably have taken them all! Heck, you keep posting - so and the Mulga
