Is the central motif laser imaged? It looks like there are (at least) two different colors to the "petals", did you paint after lasering? Different burn intensities perhaps?

Love the burn, don’t like the flowers. They remind me of wigglers circling an ova.

Yes. The center was laser burned. I added some paint and then wiped off with damp rag.
Rim ring was turned with a carbide triangle finish tool. Burned with a piece of cedar pushed into the groove.

Nice Phil. It's good to see you experimenting with new techniques. A lot of us (myself included) get stuck doing the same things and it's good to explore.
Neat design you have, both the center and flowers. I like the bold fuchsia color, reminds me of the soapwort I have blooming now.
