Assuming this was Brosimium? Just commented to @daniscool that I'd only ever seen Acacia xyphophyllum once, and as if by magic three more pieces appear, albeit small ones

I don’t follow? Almost all snake wood sold commercially is from the brosimum genus.

I’m getting older and slower.
To me the acacia snakewood was harder to work than 'regular' snakewood. My piece was also a lot more cracked. That all matched what you said about it being difficult so I thought you meant that one in particular!

That's the best piece of Snakewood I've ever seen !!!
Was best piece of snakewood I’ve had, and why I had it for so long. Just among purdy woods I’ve been hanging on to. some I consider priceless and that has little to no value to anyone else include dogwood that was outside our first home kitchen window and spalted poplar that was taken down before I learned to turn over 16 years ago. I’ve saved pieces from my sisters property and pieces from special neighbors tree for some pieces to make her.

Got it. Great packing. Everything you said but better. Thanks
Want to sell a little of it so I can make a hollow form?
Saw some snakewood chopsticks recently in a fancy Japanese pottery store selling for
$750. Don’t know if they sell at that price.

No on sale. As I said above, I have a friend that makes calls. Very high end calls. Been looking for snakewood for him for a while. He picks it up next week.
