I have 3 additional pieces of log form Sea Grape to offer, Two measure 5 X 5 and one measures 5 x 11. Price is $25 each for the 5 x 5 and $35 for the 5 x 11 . The two 5 x5 s will ship in a USPS MFRB discounted via Pirate Ship for most likely $17.50 but send me your ZIP and I can check. This wood with exposure to sunlight turns to a beautiful reddish orange . IMG_1697.JPG

All three pieces are sold . Thanks a bunch.
This is my first experience with this wood . It seems to be very hard and dense , and even stalled out my bandsaw !! It may not be good for making bowls . There is end checking which may be a characteristic for the center of the log. Maybe filling in the voids / cracks with epoxy is the solution or the center may turn away.
.I discovered that cutting the wood into smaller pieces for pen blanks , etc works great. Cut to size , dry in the microwave and finish cutting , then put outside in the sunlight and it drys more and turns reddish orange .

I'd take a chunk of sea grape -- not for crafting, but for this wood collection I've decided to build on behalf of my university's herbarium. So checks and such aren't a big deal, and while the standard collection sample size of 6" x 3" is nice, I can take smaller pieces, no problem. If you get a piece that you need to get rid of, let me know. I'm a tiny bit low on funds at the moment, but if Saturday's market goes well, I'll be able to pay whatever's fair.

Also, do you still have that Indian rosewood?

Anyway , if my 4 buyers don't like the wood, I will give you guys a refund . I will make some pen blanks . If you want more sea grape it is free for the asking. Lessons learned for me . Sorry guys . I don't feel very good about this. Again, please accept my apology .

A pen blank is fine. Let me know, if you can, approximately where these were collected -- I don't need street addresses, but the county and state should be enough, if you know them. (Was the rosewood harvested in Florida? I seem to recall it's been introduced there. . .) Message me with the postage and I'll send you the payment as soon as I can (might not be until Tuesday). Thanks again!

PS: Let me know if you get more of that bigleaf maple. That stuff worked well for some of my toys.

I found a piece of Indian Rosewood . It is a cookie , 1/2 round 8 x 4 inches , cross grain cut . it is yours for $5 . The Sea Grape and Indian Rosewood were grown here in my neighborhood , Cocoa Beach , Florida.
I have plenty of the Big Leaf Maple . It is all rough cut , not run through the planer or sander , but kiln dry . Most is 1 1/4 thick . I can cut it to length to fit the USPS flat rate boxes , medium or large size. I get Pirate Ship discount.

I was hoping for 3/4 or 1" bigleaf maple -- let me know if you have any of that. I'll happily take the rosewood and a hunk of sea grape, but may not be able to transfer the funds until Tuesday. Let me know price and shipping and I'll get it to you as soon as I can. Thanks!

I have the Rosewood piece , I piece (maybe 2 ) of Seas Grape , a piece ( pen blank size ) of the Ancient Kauri for the collection and I did find some Big Leaf Maple with figure ( curly and Burl ) and 1 -1 1/4 " thick. That was a typo error when I said 1/4 " thick . I can put all this wood (fill the box for you ) MFRB for $40 plus $17.50 shipping . Let me know if this is OK and no problem waiting till Tuesday for your payment.

Payment received . Will ship today. Thanks again.
By the way: do you have a rough idea of where the bigleaf maple was harvested? I'm going to put a chunk of it in our new wood collection, and while a lot of wood samples don't come with exact locality information, I try to record this information when I can. If you don't know, that's OK, but I thought I'd ask.

It came from the coastline of Oregon .
