you oughta know that, Joe. I educated you on that when we first met.

School starts again; Cylindropuntia VersiColor, also called Staghorn Cholla; Cholla cactus that has small limbs, different colored flowers on individual plants, and tighter wood structure.

Cylindopuntia Fulgida, also called Jumping Cholla and sometimes Chain Fruit Cholla; Has younger stems that break off easily and when you inadvertently step on one not knowing you did, two or three steps later it sticks you. That's the reason for it being called Jumping Cactus. Class ended.

One time I was collecting some and got too close to a live one and backed into it. Getting into my truck later alerted me to why it has Jumping in it's name. ........ Nubs

I know, I know, but old farts forget things, had I tought about for a minute I'm sure would have remembered, but I've a lot on my mind with sister in the hospital and couldn't bring it from the recesses of this tired old mind.

But professor, you already gave us that massive assignment. Can’t you make the test easier?
Daniboy, you need to go hug this Teddy Bear. He will appreciate it and promises you'll only hurt for a couple days.

I was sealing a log house in apache junction years ago, finished spraying one side and turned around and walked straight in to one of those darlings, first thing i did like a dummy was try to grab a piece and pull it off with my gloves, that was a mistake big time, my son had to get a pair of pliers and start to work, I was black and blue when he was done from my groin to my chin, that was a lesson I would rather not have learned !!

Several times while out in the desert, I would see a cholla stuck to my pants cuff. Like a dummy, I'd reach down and pluck it off my cuff only to have it shift slightly and embed 3-6 thorns into my hand. That was the penalty for not carrying a comb into the desert whether you have a head full of hair or being totally bald. I always have a comb with me in the desert. .............. Professor Nubs
