Do you know which pau santo? As far as I understand it literally means “holy wood” and has been used for everything from lignum vitae to some rosewood species.

Brazilian blackheart

I only really worked 1 Brazilian blackheart, Zollernia paraensis. It was jet black with small pores. Wonder what species you got there.?.

Heartwood dark brown, sometimes with a grey or green hue. Sapwood is pale yellowish, and is sharply demarcated from the heartwood.
