Started a production run today and used my last spalted beech blank. It’s very popular and would really like to get more. Minimum size requirement for prepped rounds is 2 3/8 thick by 5 1/2”. Beech, maple or any light wood with dark spalt lines boards, log sections or cut blanks will do. Must be solid and defect free, no punky stuff. Thanks.

Appreciate it Jeremy nice chunk o wood. These are production pieces and quite sure your delivered price would negate the profit margin for a finished lamp.

Understandable! Though I am trying to offload a bunch of black and white ebony, so it might not be astronomically high in case anyone else reading this is interested. haha

Start a thread w/ specific pieces pictured and priced and we'll see.

Hey @Nubsnstubs do you still have a bunch of that hackberry to get rid of like the piece that Barb took off your hands? That had a lot of spalt in it.
Yep, and after I leave SWAT for Missouri, I can get a trailer load if I choose while there. from the Springfield, Mo. area, I am going to go up to Massatwowhatever. I would like to see Lil' Mikie as I owe him some Texads Ebony, but we haven't set anthing up yet. Since you aren't too far off my route, I could stop by with some if you want some. ............... That is an idea we may need to explore on another thread. I was actually thinking @Jonkou might be able to use as well. Since the black and white action is more on his want list than the "beech" part as I read it anyway...

I have 8 half logs of beech buried in the leaves right now. A few of them should be ready to pull out. I will keep you posted..

Thanks Nick, looking forward to hearing back from you.

Still in the leaves? Still interested.
Man, I need to check in here more often.. I pulled one out after I responded to this. Cut into it, and threw it back in the leaves to keep soaking. I thought I posted that they weren't ready yet, but must have forgotten. Sorry!

Now, don't forget about your poor relations down in the stinking lowlands of Middle Tennessee!
