Squirreltail 2025

What do you do with the tails? There are a few fishing flies that use squirrel tail and fur. One of my favorite tarpon flies is called a cockroach and it uses squirrel tail for the collar. There's an Ozark trout fly called a Pine Squirrel Nymph that is completely made from pine squirrel fur. I'm not looking for squirrel tails, just wondered what you did with them all. If you have a local fly shop that might take them and sell them.

I usually just hang them for a tally at the end of season or until wife goes in backyard. No aware of any fly fishing in south central Oklahoma

I sure wish I could get BigD to make a stealthy run or two through my yard!
We have a bumper crop of walnuts this year and the tree rats are starting to gather to make a run at them. Good thing I’ve stocked up on 20 gauge steel shot. No need for stealth here.

Oh, to live in the country.

Walnuts, whisky, ammo, and something to shoot. Sounds like heaven.
