Mostly I wanted to see if my pics would go through.

Moma Brink picked his up for me. Spent about 45 mins cleaning and sharpening. Another couple hours playing with it.

Works very well on figured/knotty cherry and maple. Oak seemed a bit tough to work. I an see how folks will scrape, then go straight to finish, forget the sandpaper.

Very nice! A scraper plane was next on my purchase list when I bought this lathe & stepped into the "black hole." :wacko1::lol::sarcastic::wacko1:

Looks like a beaut! I've never used anything like that other than briefly trying a Veritas scraper at the Woodworking Show. I can see needing to get used to it but it does leave a surface that you wouldn't need to use sandpaper on.

Thanx everyone, wish I had more bonding time with this one. I've wanted a 112 for a loooonnnng time. I'm in the midst of a cherry trestle table build, and I'd like to scrape the top instead of sanding it.

i love hand tools. scrapers leave such a nice smooth glass like finish!
i built a vanity for a friend and the top i had to scrape, had some tear out in the figure, and it killed me to take a sander to it. :dash2::dash2:
he wanted a specific stain he already used in his house. that tool is on my to get list in the future!
