Sunrise & Sunset Shots . . . .

For the last six months I’ve been walking a lot and lately the afternoons are 100°+ so I’ve been going in the early mornings. This morning the full moon hadn’t set yet and when the sun rose gave me a nice show

No visual sunrise or sunset the last 3 days. Heavy overcast. Lots of chopping and packing bunks up-state NY.
 
During my walk this morning, I had a secondary goal of perhaps viewing the Comet Tsuchinshan–ATLAS in the morning's eastern sky. It's situated very low to the horizon at 10° and very faint to the naked eye. To my dismay there was a low band of heavy clouds that obscured the entire eastern horizon up to about 15°. Oh well, I'll do it again tomorrow morning when I once again venture forth on Barry's Morning Jaunts.

Was in South Dakota last week. Have been going out there for about 35 years now to pheasant hunt. In addition to the hunting have always enjoyed the “dark sky’s” and looking at the stars and the sunsets are almost always good with the unspoiled vistas. These are just a couple of the pics I took.

Sunrise out the back door of the farm we stay at in South Dakota. Maybe you can see the “pet deer” standing in the grass. There’s two mamas and two fawns on the property and they make their home in the surrounding neighborhood.

Have a friend that used to go every year. I'd like to go. He'd invite me, but he always went and stayed and hunted in more expensive places than I could afford!

Yea- I’ve heard upwards of $300-$500 (+) per day for one of the hunting lodges. We’re fortunate to have a friend who has a farm with an extra house.
We also have a pretty decent 1979 Suburban out there as a hunting rig which we’ve had for a long time.
Some of the locals want it now. It’s a classic!
 
Wish it had been just $300-$500 per day. It was like $10,000 for 3 days not including travel. He doesn't have to worry about what he spends! Same thing with his Alaska trips he's taken - I think they cost more.
 
Fall in Northern Michigan has been a gift this year. I took this on a bonus bike ride after work a week and a half ago. Traverse City has an incredible walking/bike trail system, which includes a loop around Boardman Lake.
