I would gladly send you the mockingbirds from our yard and the neighbors yard. To listen to those birds 30 feet away continuously calling for hours is enough to make you forget it’s the state bird and hope the cats catches it. If they would only take a break…..
I can imagine that gets old rather quickly.

Agree! And I'll throw in a couple dozen squirrels as a bonus!

Amazingly, we don't have many squirrels that come near the house. They, for the most part, stay in the timber 150 yards east of the house. Having plenty of farm cats around probably helps.

I was power washing the porch and he (she?) was building a home behind a shutter. We stared at each other for a minute. It was tense but eventually the power washer won. I’m thinking it’s a temporary victory. He (she?) will be back tomorrow I’m sure.

That's an incredible photo Tom... but I'm siding with Eric on this one. I hate hornets and wasps. Bees I can tolerate but these guys who can sting and sting and sting some more need to go elsewhere.

Looks like a mass murder scene to me. :sofa: Did you save that nest. It looks like it would make a good looking turning if it was cast and turned. ............Nubs
Nope, it came off the wall in small chunks. If it had been hanging from a tree maybe could have gotten it whole but it was really glued on.

Still power washing the porch, probably 2 more days of this. Ugh!

Another porch critter. My in depth Google research says Eastern Gray Treefrog. Little guy, kinda cool.

No sign of the wasp returning, yet.

What a super cool little frog. Never seen one. They must hang out on white bark trees and such, with that coloration for camoflage.

Apparently they can change colors (gray, green, brown) based on environment. He was sitting on a gray weathered bench. The last picture he looks almost a bit greenish. He had moved to the decking.
