Shame on you , Chuck. I get 2-3 per year up stairs, where my bed is. I never make my bed in the mornings as it's safer to make it just before climbing into it because of the critters I might find. I usually get them into a large cup and then toss them outside. I have never heard anyone being stung by one. I'm done rambling. Thanks for the picture. ............ Nubs

I've been bit by centipedes, twice. Feels like someone is holding a lit cigarette against your skin for an hour or two where the bite is. Ice helps. We had them all the time in our house we rented on the northshore of Hawai'i while I was in the Army. One crawled into bed with me one night and bit me right on the butt. I just saw it scurry out of sight when I flipped the light on. I searched for it and finally found it by pulling the bottom drawer out of my night stand and saw its antennae poking out. Tickled it out from under the frame of the night stand and beat it into pulp with a hammer. My roommates woke up and wondered what the heck was going on. Another one crawled under the washrag I had hanging in the shower. Grabbed the washrag, felt something wiggling inside, and before I could drop it the bugger got me. Creepy buggers. Biggest one I've ever seen was in Samoa, that thing was almost 10 inches long and as big around as my thumb. The ones there were all dark mahogany color.

OK. hahaha. I'm sorry, Doug, but that's a funny story to me only , probably. I've been stung about 6-7 times by scorpions. Expect an extreme pain for at least a couple hours, then intermittent for the next 22 hours. I timed the last couple stings, and they were right at a 24 hour annoyance. After the 24 hour time period, it's like nothing happened. ............. Nubs

My wife was stung by one when we lived in Hawaii. It was in the evening and she suffered all night. By morning she was okay. She said it was like being stung by a thousand bees. Chuck

Just got back from visiting the wife's relatives in Montana, they live on the outskirts of Missoula, deer everywhere, they are like lawn ornaments there, also a heard of feral horses roaming the neighborhood, thought this pic was kinda cute deer.webp

That spotted fawn looks pretty young. I guess they hatch late back there.
