Trade with Texasstate: Knife/Pistol Blanks for Grips

What sandpaper do you use once you get to those higher grits? 3M makes some really high grit stuff but it is expensive so I was wondering if you knew any cheaper alternatives.

I have found most cheap sandpaper to actually be more expensive. Very short life, or larger grit mixed in with fine, makes it cost you money.

All shaping, relief cuts and bevels completed, both grips polished through 8,000 grit, and the 1st coat of Tru-Oil applied (last picture).

Agreed. Not all cheaper sandpaper is bad though. Especially if you can get it a lot cheaper. I don’t use much sandpaper but when I do use some I’m something of a premiumist. 3M all the way.
