Turning difficult wood

That looks so much better bleached! I may even be tempted to work with some in the future after seeing that. :)

Final chapter of the wenge saga… parted it off the waste block, removed the nub and blended then dyed to match, oiled it in my usual fashion which darkened it some, let it dry for two days and took the pics. Will let it dry for a week or so before waxing and polishing. Like it but not worth the effort on this piece.

So, would you make more of these with Wenge, John, but not bleached?
No Tom, bleached or not could have made at least 3 of these in maple burl in the same time period. As said previously these are my bread and butter production pieces, lose money on this one. It was however a successful experiment with results that I would definitely use again on objet d‘art. Thanks again for your input.
 
Yeah, I would agree. I used to put Wenge into end grain cutting boards, mostly for accent, but don’t use it any longer.
