I've been working on this piece on and off for quite awhile now, but finally there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
I found this slab in a fire pit at an old hunt camp. It was burnt beyond recognition and I had no idea what it was but I figured what the hell so I loaded it up.
Because of where I found it I assumed it was Cypress, so imagine my surprise when I worked my way through it, only to find out it was a slab of Redwood Burl!
What it was doing in a fire pit in North Florida I have no idea. It's finally starting to look like something and I should have it finished pretty soon.
