Unknown wood with 3 pith crotch.

Grabbed it off the ground. Was told it was walnut when I picked it up?
Any guesses?
Has everything. bark, full through crack, Hole thru side, knots and three piths!
The line on the rear inside is the cracked, punky spot.
Beautiful colors inside that my phone wouldn't capture. 1 coat of walnut oil so far.
8 inch round X 5 high.

Here are the cut offs from the band saw if that helps. Sure looks like walnut. Wonder if it could be butternut?
