Another thing is that Pirate Ship is free but I’m sure that they would happily accept an annual check for their service if so inclined ?

Assume that was for them to come pick it up at your house? I just shipped a few blanks, 9x9x12 box 21lbs, was $31 from KY to PA.

No pickup was requested, and no packaging assistance was requested either

Well, USPS did it again, upped prices this week. The flat rate padded envelope was 10 cents more this week than last week. The medium flat rate box jumped a full dollar since last week, nearly 2 bucks since Halloween.

The UPS store and FedEx stores in our area closed 2 years ago, forcing people to consider using the library to print labels and ship from the Dollar General for FedEx and from registered local businesses if they let you for UPS. Still need to look into the Pirate ship.

Yep, got it today too. It blows my mind that USPS claims every year that they lose money. Why don't they privatize it. Guarantee that prices could go down and they still make money. Someone is padding their pockets! USPS delivers a lot of Amazon packages and shipping costs with them are cheap. If the USPS would have a "prime" account, I'd pay a yearly fee to get discounted shipping rates.

I got that too. Didn't read the "full details", but wondered if those increase percentages were on the old rates, or on the seasonal Christmas rates that i think are still in effect. Best of luck to all!!

1 @Greenacres2 I have been shipping for 20 yrs. USPS Never have lowered rates. Temporary means until they raise price again.
2 This brings up next point, I read yesterday that next month, another 8% raise. Will it go down when fuel goes down. See 1
3. What government agency makes money. I will not hold my breath waiting for answer.
4 no worries, they only lost 2.5 billion last year.
