Today started with a bahhumbug.
I was going to send a pen making friend in Canada a box of blanks for the fun of it. Get all ready to send it, and find out it's going to cost him close to $110 in taxes, tarrifs and fees!!
Obviously it wasn't worth that to him!
So now I have a box of 18 (?) pen blanks, pre-sealed in a USPS small flat rate box.
I'd like to get them to someone who would like them.
I'd also not have to reopen the box and reshelf them! (Lazy man!)
So what's in there...
2 Cottonwood blanks**
1 Canary wood
2 Caragana (Siberian Snow pea) from dry country (it's about like lilac in growth / hedge row) cool stuff**
1 Buckthorn **
1 Yellowheart
1 Cedar (fence row juniper) from the Stacey family home farm tree claim **
2 Khya (spelling) African Mahogany
2 Teak
1 Spalted Maple **
1 curly maple **
1 Koa (shorty) not great figure, but from Hawaii!
1 crazy epoxy mash up
1 historic pine from the XIX McGregor Ranch of Estes CO **
1 historic blank of unknown wood (possible an iron wood?) from a Gold Mine in the Black Hills of SD
These are just short enough to stand up in the small flat rate box.
Mostly close to 3/4" x 3/4", some a touch thinner, at least 1 thicker. For safety I'd say plan on 7mm pens, but if you are careful you possibly could do bigger on some.
The picture is not up to spects I know, and if someone really wants I can open it up and try for better pictures. The plan was just a gift, so no effort was made to get good photos.
I'd like to get $50 plus shipping.
Or I am open to a trade for odd wood.
Preferably something I can't just buy at WoodCrafters.
** Are harvested privately and not kiln dried.
