With my new molds I use a lot less resin and of course forgot about that. Ended up with about 4 ounces extra, grabbed the tub of Folgers and mixed in a bunch of coffee and poured the resin into one of my slab molds. (I don't drink the stuff, just use it for filler. The stuff I drink is about 18.00 a pound and gets made in a French Press pot)

Decided today to see what they look like. I think if I'd used a pressure pot they would have been a bit better but they turn fairly easy, sand well and take a decent finish. only had a few little voids to fill.

Impressive! Wonder how they will hold up over time. Chuck

They seem pretty hard, the resin soaked into the grounds pretty well. I abused the blocks pretty good first to get an idea of durability and they are darn hard.

What did they smell like turning and sanding them? Got enough coffee smell to them to override the smell of fiberglass resin?

So how good does the coffee taste made from a press?
I have never tried it, but it looks interesting....

I like it, you need a coarse grind or it comes out chewy but full body, and you can control it somewhat by how long you let it steep.
