What's in the mail?

Need a new wedding ring. During my allergic reaction my hand swelled a little and my current ring is just a bit tight. It is a metal with wood inlay. So, I figured I would try to turn my own. Why not, just another rabbit hole…..

Cool! Let us know how it works out. Might want to mask your address in this shot. Chuck

Well, my ring experiment drove me to a second order….and a very good friend asked me to turn a fountain pen for his son. The fountain pen will be a first, went with the Artisan Jr Statesman II. I believe this comes in different styles so one set of mandrels and bits will allow me to do many varieties. Of course, ordered 2…… not going to mess this one up.

Also ordered their boring kit for the rings. Looks usable for other projects that need a little deeper but very square recess of some type. Or, I just like this type of stuff. My first ring practice though suffered greatly in the “square hole” part of the turn if that makes sense.

Of course Hazel had to inspect and ask when would the box be empty.

Thanks to @Kenbo , I ordered some Bondic. I was introduced to UV curing adhesive through fly tying and have used Solarez. But Kenny’s show opened my eyes to some other uses. Also, this formula dries hard where some of the Solarez never fully hardens.

So what applications will you use this for? Really sounds like an answer to some adhesive challenges. Chuck

One thing I have to remember from Kenny’s video is it is not good for an application that sticks things together and the gluing surface is hidden. It has to be more of a “weld……..to not answer your question directly. Repairs of plastic pieces such as cracked housings and such. Going to have to see and go for it I think….

I would think, on small thin objects, that having the fluid in the crack should not be an issue as light is refractory and would transfer through to some depth to catalistically infuse....

No pictures because it's all been unpacked and put away already, but this week I received orders from Supergrit and Supercut - restocked on sandpaper and bandsaw blades.

All I got was bills and in invitation to a seminar about how to calm a hyperactive brain. Had to laugh, my brain is not even close to hyper active.

So Trent Bosch was my not so secret Santa Thursday. So excited given all of what I see on here and such. Yep, not even a practiced bowl turner yet and here I go down another bunny trail. But the demo at our club last Friday felt like a sign. I should have taken a few pictures!!
