My old computer took a dump on me the other day and I replaced it with a new laptop with windows 8. My problem is that in WB, I can see users icons, and smilies, but cannot load any pics. WB just isn't the same without viewing the pics. I've tried 3 different browsers, IE explorer, google chrome, and firefox with no luck. Is this a windows problem, or could it be the processor in my machine (AMD)? Any ideas would be appreciated.

suddenly, the pics are working fine....now I'm really flustered, worked all day trying to get them to load.... Disregard the above post for the time being since I cannot delete it....

Better to leave the thread here in case others have the same issue.

Windows is SUCH a fun operating system ! Stuff comes and goes.

I just got a new computer with 8 and ended up loading PhotoScape- so far it is great- easy.

Christmas is coming and if I get a bonus again at work I'm gonna get a new puter too! Mine is dying, hard drive is going. Windows 8, I've heard good and bad. :dunno:

OK, I figured out the problem. If I log into the site, the pics come up just fine, but if I attempt to view without logging into the site, the pics won't work. I don't know if this is intentional, but it seems to me that it may tend to turn away prospective members if they are unable to view the pics on our site before joining???:dunno:

:exactly:

As far as I know it has always been that way?

It's intentional. I figured if someone wants to view the images but won't even make the small effort to register in order to do so, maybe they wouldn't be a good fit here anyway. :no dice. more please:

If you don't get a bonus or want to waste the money your computer may not be all that bad. If it's not to old you may just need to reformat it. It takes about 1 day to reformat. My 03 computer works just fine, it's slower and a spare but it works fine.

Thanks for the advice, but my puter has some issues, battery is shot, wi fi doesn't work, and the hard drive is going. If it wasn't for the hard drive I would fix it, but it's just not worth putting the money into it. I have a friend that's a computer tweak and when I have issues that are beyond me I give it to him for repair, he said the same thing. Him and I trade services, he fixes my computer, and I repair his power equipment.

Is this your computer you're describing, or the operator?
