Wood language

I saw a post on the sizes needed or required for different items. I copied and kept for reference.
Can any one list the letters used to ID the various woods you guys and gals are referring to . I have just now found out the phone language like LOL much less so many lettered ref. to wood. I know I am infected with CRS the older I get . I know what CRS means I have been told several times I have it.

Mike, thanks for that link, I hadn't seen it before -- now I've got it bookmarked

I noticed that ABW (African Blackwood) isn't in the list -- maybe that's an acronym I made up myself, but I think I've seen it in use on the forum. Anyway, I was about to post a note on that thread but found it's been locked/closed. Is there another way to get additional suggestions onto the list?
