Our very own @woodtickgreg made some really nice carbide turning tools once upon a time, of which I purchased a few of them. One of them was this hollowing tool, which he made out of stainless steel (and polished!!). I bought it, put a handle on it, and have never once used it. So it's time to let it go to someone who will. Handle is made from Verawood (which is sometimes called Argentine Lignum Vitae, and was labelled as such from Woodcraft where I bought it, though is certainly not related to real lignum vitae.)

$140 + shipping. Payment by PayPal.

Vera wood is certainly related to lignum vitae. They are in the same family. Otherwise they absolutely different species.

To be fair, Paul said this, which is why I said what I said: "Another widely used name for this wood is "Argentine lignum vitae" but this wood is not related to true lignum vitae and is very easy to distinguish from it" There may be more to the story, but that's as far as I read on his page. :whatever:
