World Tree

Ha, looks shady to me. Send them money now, they supposedly plant trees, and 8-12 years later they'll share 30% of the profits with all the investors. But then again, I'm suspicious of anyone asking for money.

No way I would invest. I was more curious about this tree species. Chuck

Empress trees are considered highly invasive in certain areas especially certain cultivars.
20 years ago they were pushing them through the state forestry department, now the same department is trying to control the spread of those darn invasive trees... Go figure

Their ad is full of all the current woke buzzwords, but very short on true data. What is the empress tree? If it is so great, show some actual use data, not just tell us that it is "popular". With the exception of one officer who has an Environmental Science degree, where is the forestry/agronomy specialist, and maybe a wood/materials scientist who can tell if the product is actually lumber that can be used.

Lots of promises and very few facts.

The tree has a very fast rate of growth. The lumber is light weight, ring porous, and bland.

I have seen a dresser made of it. Grain pattern similar to ash or chestnut. Color similar to sassafras or catalpa. Very poor wear resistance.

I have also used it as a prepainted solid wood trim. Didn't care for it. Would rate it between pine and MDF for useability.

This is sold under the name Paulownia. It's one cultivar is Paulownia tormentosa.
