A friend of my son's would like to know if anyone does grips for a 1911. (Excuse my ignorance but I think that is a hand gun).

Thanks

Holy smokes. You are about to get a bunch of replies. Lots of awesome grip makers here.

Homebody, LSCG, are the two that come to mind...if they don't stop by I'll send em a message to check it out.

Ok...I sent em both a message.

Cheers John!

No problem! Im here to help...

I haven't made any .45 grips for quite some time. I don't even have a jig. I'm doing shotgun stocks now almost exclusively. Gary

Hmm...Maybe jaustin would be interested. Lemme check.

Sorry to took so long to reply been a long week.
Have you found anyone to make them yet?

I will be making my first set very soon. If I am happy with the results I'll let you know and maybe we can work something out. If one of the guys that does them regularly chimes in I say go with them.

John

No one has stepped forward yet except Bluegrass.
All I need right now is a ballpark price for a set of grips from a medium quality wood.
John

If i do I will take a couple of pics on a 1911 and send it to you.

I do have some Amboya burl, Cocobolo and some Irish bog oak.

Very nice
What would you charge for each of these sets?
I'll relay the info to my son's friend.
John

Johnturner,

Have you gotten the 1911 grips you were interested in for your son's friend? If not, let me know, I have several sets already made and can probably help you out. Below are some representative pictures of some I have made.

Thanks,

-jason
