The cool kids - Lil Mikey wasn't one of them - smelly, ugly, troglodytes didn't get them type of bikes!
We used to build them. Can't say we did any springers, but plenty of extended forks and mixed wheel sizes. Made a few backwards bikes too.
I wanted to build one. Even had a catalog that featured tons of custom parts. Used to drool over it and dream. But I either did not have the money or would rather spend it on hunting and fishing or catcher's equipment; I never did build one. Wanted to up till the time I bought my road bike - a Peugeot UO8 in high school. Wish I could remember the name of that catalog! Did cut some forks off a junk bike and tried to slip them on the front forks of my bike, but didn't work too well. What I really wanted was one of those tall sissy bars!
