ALL QUESTIONS & COMMENTS REGARDING NEW SOFTWARE GO HERE

Duncan, it's an easy fix and I have it on the list but it's pretty far down - I'll try to move it up but I haven't been able to spend much time her or in the panel even. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Kevin. You folks have done a superb job already, it amazes me that the site has been so stable from the new launch. (Yes, I know the saying "under the calm surface of the pond, the duck is paddling furiously!")

Is there a way to look at only the threads you start? I found the my content button but that shows all the threads I have posted in. I am looking for only the threads I have started.

I'm having a hrs time replicating it, but reading and re-reading it just a question - could screen resolution / zoom level have an impact on that landing spot?

Greg - The only way I have found so far is to go into your preferences. Under browsing options you can tick the "Automatically watch posts you create" and the optionally "Receive email notifications on these alerts" - Off a bit on the wording but you will see it. Hope this helps

I tried changing the zoom level, didn't change anything.

When you hover the cursor over the left hand end of the gray stripe just below the messages on this page, what happens? On my screen, the background of "Forums" becomes visibly darker. Then as I move to the right, the background of "Important Site Information" becomes visibly darker. Click ... and on the page that it takes you to, can you (without scrolling) actually read the words "IMPORTANT SITE INFORMATION" in the section head, and the words "Site Rules" next to a folder icon?

This happens to me as well. When you click on a link to get to the new posts in a thread you're following the top is cut off by the fixed content. Windows/Firefox, Linux/Chrome.

A minor annoyance, just a bit odd until you come to expect it. From my perspective it can stay way down on the fix-it list as it's a really minor annoyance and everything is going so great.

How do we now delete our conversations, I don't see that option. I see the box by each conversation that can be checked, but not really sure what to do after that. :unknown:

Either the new software just couldn't believe I liked what I liked, or the wizard is throwing levers again. I'm guessing the latter, since the site also seemed extremely slow for a few minutes.

Weird. I liked your post to see if it asked me that but it didn't. I never seen that before. I've been working on the site since before 6 this morning so I have thrown a lot of levers but nothing that should cause that. Does it ask you that everytime you like a post?

Nope, that was the 1st time... and I just liked yours and didn't get that screen. Maybe the software was dumbfounded that I'd like one of Mike1950's posts: "Really, you like that?!?". Is kind of odd.

I am having a problem with when I post a thread and someone responds to it that I am not being sent a notification via my normal email. when the other site was up I was having the same issue and it continues the same now with the new setup, is there something on my end I am not doing? I have watch this thread and receive email notifications checked but it just does not seem to work.

Thanks

Steven - I looked at the settings that I have visibility to. From what I can see you have everything set correctly. However I cannot see all of your settings. Mouse over your user name in the top right corner. When the window pops up, look at all of the options under 'Contact Details, Preferences and Alert preferences" Each of these contain a checkbox that has influence over notifications. This software is heavily dependent on Hierarchy and has what appear to us a lot of redundancies. One of those redundancies can negate everything below it in the hierarchy. Yep - Its a bit confusing to all of us but we are working on it. Try these options and let me know if it helps.
Thanks
Scott

P.S. - Nice Avatar

Yeah Scott I have pretty much went through everything on this new setup and the old setup.. I have even unchecked everything made a post waited for a reply then rechecked everything hoping that might give it a kick start but no luck. like I said it used to work flawlessly but somewhere along the lines something happened.

I noticed that all the threads were private when not logged in and I couldn't read anything in any forum as a guest. This changed when I logged in. Is this supposed to happen?

Edit: this could be a bug? if so this post is in the wrong forum.

It's not a bug Ryan. Well it sort f is. When I woke up this morning to peek at the forum at around 4:50 we had over 70 spam attacks in the moderation queue; I just smiled, shut the computer off and went back to bed knowing Marc (Ripjack) would have a field day. By the time he logged in there were 98. So after that I had to shut the guest view down because they've found a way to post even though I can't figure out how to do it as a guest. It's another bug on the list. Thanks for keeping an eye out though.

Hey check it out I got the message number and likes received displaying. That was easy - it just takes time to get around to finding the right switches. :yess.gif:

Is there anything else y'all want displayed in the post bit (avatar section)?
