@wood128 I use Pirate ship and also received the same e-mail. @DLJeffs You can create an account with USPS,UPS, Fed Ex and etc.for free and print your own labels at home. As far as discount shipping P/S can really save $ for no extra versus other services that charge you by the month. One thing that I noticed right away is that if you ship a FRB with USPS the saving is minimal vs. shipping in a non FRB. P/S also calculates if regional shipping or other types of flat rate would be less expensive.Same with UPS with different rates like ground vs. their other services. I tend to use USPS if the price is only a couple of dollars more expensive because with my account I can schedule a pick up with the local mail carrier when they drop off our mail for no charge. They also scan the label when they pick it up so it is in the system.

I haven't set up personal account with USPS or UPS etc, mostly because I don't mail that much stuff to make it worthwhile. But it makes sense what you say. I know that even using Pirate Ship, if I say I'm sending it in a USPS standard rate box (small, medium, or large) I've pretty much paid the same as if I went to the PO. Which also makes sense to me, since you're using a fixed rate box. But I'll have to explore a little more next time and see if I can find the discount Joe is talking about. I still like Pirate Ship so far.

You can also send a pdf of the label to the sender to print out on their end to save on the shipping if they don’t have the service you prefer. I have done this with family members for a few holiday shipments.

The large piece of Bay and the small piece are sold to Mike Hill . I will ship both in the same box 17 X 11 X 12 inches weighing 33 pounds , from Florida to Tenn. for $29.12 with UPS Ground Saver . That is according to Pirate Ship a 50% savings. I do not know if that rate would apply to all parts of our country or all size packages ......probably not !! If anyone knows more , please share with us .
Just send Mike his own personal QR code so he can locate this “Bay tree” package in his office, I mean his shop 
. Someone has to look out for him (practicing my “apple polisher” title) and while we are at it, he needs a simple app for this QR code feature to work……….oh heck, that might be a little too much for his Li’l Tennessean noggin.
