Boat building

For a little extra abrasion-resistance, I put a layer of s-glass on the bottom of the hull starting a couple feet aft of the bow and back to the stern. Was able to get the first fill coat on while it was tacky, but not a second. So a few days later, found a window between storms to give it a light sanding and will put another fill coat on in the next few days.

As she sits now...

It is definitely nice being able to wheel it out for sanding. My festool sander/vacuum do a nice job keeping dust down, but I wouldn't want what dust it misses getting all over the shop and cars. Plus when done sanding, I cam use a blower to blow most of the remaining dust off the boat before pulling it back in.

Cam? Is that a typo? Or is it a reference? (If so I know to what)
 
Looking good! But sure wish it had more rocker, a higher prow and stern, and came with an invitation to drift purdy rivers.
 
Yeah. If we send the older kids diving then we might even get our hands on some bog oak assuming we’re in the right river.

I wanted to do some work on mine outside but the weather this spring just wouldn't cooperate. If I get around to building another it will be too big for the shop and I will have to work in my open shed. The shed is attached to the shop so it probably wouldn't be terribly inconvenient, it will just have to be a summer project.
