There is no cross running grain orientation- they are moving in one axis, even though it is more wavy and undulating, they move from the north to south and they created these array of cascading grain as they move from east to west. If you are thinking that those pinched grain are cross grain, those are not what those are. That is grain aberration and figuring aberration. That creates a great deal of grain and figure runout. This section technically is “quartered cut”- the grain is running in one axis. The deviation on the grain and figure is related to physical, environmental and stress factors.can you explain the cross running grain orientation at the pith, center bottom of bowl?
the swirl pattern runs completely counterintuitive swirly to the pith at center of bowl underside bottom
