Brisket Knife Handle

I'm kind of a wood hoarder myself.

This is one of the first pens I made and my everyday carry. YCB with walnut celtic cross. Not as nice as it once was but it writes nice and it's small and light to carry.

Sweet pen!

You think you can turn the barrel thicker and with some taper like the ones in my photo?

Also, it looks like it's going to be around $25 to ship the board to NY. At least that's what I estimated using the USPS site.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

G

I'm sure I could. A couple of things.

You never mentioned a price for the wood.

Do you want the pen made from the beef wood?

How long is the piece? As it will most likely be used for pens, would shipping be cheaper if you cut it in half?

More proof? More proof? - ok

It's new handle has just been received and it was so excited, it was allowed to open the package!

And for the rehandling. For those of y'all that don't think I can or won't do anything. There - that oughta hold it! This rehandling stuff is easy as pie!

Good fit! A little shaping might be needed.

I don’t know Li’l Mikey- the existing wooden handle on that brisket looks snazzy to me. It appears to me that original handle belongs with that blade. Maybe Doug @was right all along :nodice:……..you just can’t see enough eye candy and what does a whoarder do? Well, keep feeding his addiction :treehugger::treehugger::treehugger:

As far as the working drawings in the background- can you move the column so the client can have an interrupted view? The building won’t miss it right? :sarcastic:

Existing handle ain't too bad - just has these notches that I don't care about. It even has one mosaic pin. And I want to put some "special" pins on it.

Hey Bill,

It's around 19 inches long.

Also, I don't have nothing but a handsaw here, so if I did cut it, it would be rough.

I'm not really interested in selling it. I was thinking more of a trade for someone to make me 2 or 3 pens. That's why I would provide the kits and the wood (I have several other wood blanks I need turned into pens).

Let me know what you think. I may have to start a separate post for this.

Thanks,

G

Gawgeous! Now Barry, you know what you just did here? You just took Li’l Mikey off his tracks showing him these beauties- this is more than “kicking it up a notch”! You know how his mind meanders and he probably going to abort using the existing blade as you got his Tennessean mind all happy that he is going to want a Damascus blade!

While I do turn pens I don't think I'm interested in doing this. Thank you for the offer though.
