Burls for bowls (9 x 3)

Hi @mesquite&me I'd love to see what you have! Do you have a blank can make an 8 to 9 inch bowl. 3 inches thick? I do have a mesquite blank that is about 7 1/2" but it is straight grained with no figure. I'd like some a bit more exciting if you have such! Here is a picture of what I have.View attachment 278381

I have these two, each way more exciting but may need to be stablized, one on the left is 9.5"x8"x6, the other is 9"x7"x5.5". Each have beautiful grain and have vivid color

Hi @mesquite&me Definitely more exciting than the blank I have. I'm leaning toward the one on the right. But can you post a few more photos? What is you asking price for each of them? and for the pair? Thanks!

Looks good. What is your price for it? Is $45 to $50 reasonable? (not including shipping)

Hi @mesquite&me It sounds good to me, i’d like them. Before you box them up for me, do you happen to have a spindle blank size 19” x 1.5” (or a bigger piece is fine) of Cholla, pitch/pinion pine and the salt cedar. If you had a straight piece of Cholla that size, I would cast it in epoxy and turn a spindle from it.

I believe I have one of pinon pine that looks like it has great figure, havnt cut into it yet. Cholla is a possible, salt ceder possible as well but would need to be stablized as the salt ceder I have while beautiful is not that strong of a wood

Hard for me to get to post office sometimes, I'm going there today tho. Would you like me to get the two mesquite bowl blanks and two spindle blanks out today?? $10 per spindle

Hi, wonderful that you have those! I’m willing to wait, if you think you can round up some salt cedar. No rush just let me know if you can, and then I will PM you to make payment.
