I opened the box yesterday and was greeted by a mango hollowform topped with Gaboon ebony finials. Thank you! This is indeed a snazzy ornament. I'm with @2feathers Creative Making here -- this overshoots my own abilities by a countrt mile. One of these days I need to learn woodturning. . .

Love his sticks! Even gone as far as buying his,snake scale wood burner tips. Something I've had to put off to retirement!

@Tony the little texan sent in an ash body with maple finial and a mixed species/media egg cup which I suspect is to store the ornament when it's not on a hanger

I want you to know that I don’t hate you. I don’t even dislike you. Heck, one of my best friends was born in Texas. Somehow though when I saw someone else (I think it might have been one of the mikes) make the joke in an intro post, it clicked with me and now this is how I spend time on WB!!!

The recipient of my ornament may not be getting it before Christmas. After a 3 day vacation in Chicago, it is now spending a couple days in the next distribution center. Sure am glad I paid for priority delivery.....

You are on point with this ornament…: the cuts .. glueing together … the sanding and the finish are awesome… as soon as I opened the package and took it out my wife claimed it ..

It's kind of a double-sided intarsia -- there's an unseen central piece that has the front, back, and side pieces glued to it. This was an experimental design, and I'm glad that it seems to have worked out. Next year I may make this larger and turn it into a gift card holder. . . .
