Are those Cooks, or are you just saying that those are examples of altered photos?

They are C{r}ooks. Over many years I've bought several planks from them. I've generally found the quality of the wood to be quite good and they were very prompt in rectifying a problem that I had with one of their shipments. BUT ... as you can see from the referenced page on my site, I recognized early on that their web pics were MASSIVELY dishonest. I learned to discount that.
Also, their prices are quite high.
Ive had the opposite experience with them in terms of quality.
In the picture below with purpleheart, the pieces on the bottom are from Cooks and the pieces on the top are from another vendor. As you can see, the Cooks PH is just butt ugly. Its very brown/gray, and it really doesn't change much in the sun or with heat. The grain is also all squirrely, which is unusual for purpleheart.
The pictures of the serving board that I made for my parents has figured Claro walnut in the middle and Chechen edges - both from Cooks. While the color is fine with both, the website imagery of the Claro showed full heavy figure throughout, and as you can see that is not the case. The Chechen is fine, except for that gigantic black section that they conveniently left out of the web images. Unfortunately I didn't even notice it until the board was glued up, cause the sawdust hid it pretty well. But it stands out like a sore thumb after finishing.

Sadly. He had some really good stuff.
If i remember correctly, he just joined the forum to unload the gaboon, but he also sold a few other pieces whole he was at it.
Yeah but we bought quite a lot of other stuff from him too.
I got his cell from when i bought from him, so i just shot him a text. Hopefully he responds. If not, i can cut you off some of mine depending on how much you need.

@SA-Motors Lucas got back. Hes still got some curly rambutan, but he's out of state for work until early November. He said he'd hop onto the forum later, as he's busy with work now. If i remember correctly, he's a carpenter for big events like NASCAR races and formula 1... Pretty sweet job, but i imagine it's a ton of work in the moment.
Hi @Big Ry thanks for checking into this and reaching out to him! I really appreciate it. I bought a small piece from him, and basically used it all up. I definitely want some more. Thank you for the offer of sharing some of yours, but I think I can wait until November until he hops on. Does sound like a sweet job he has!
Hopefully you guys work out a deal. I don't think he had a lot of it, so you might be getting the last of it!
