♫ εηdεd ♫ Desert Ironwood Knife Scales

I just looked at the list of state trees. I was surprised at how many states have pine - 10 out of 50 . . . 20%! If you count redwood, spruce, fir, and hemlock softwoods are represented quite well. I'm surprised to discover not a single state has any type of cedar.

In 2004 The National Arbor Day Foundation conducted a poll allowing Americans to vote for the National Tree. The winner was "The Mighty Oak". I was unable to find any scientific name for "The Mighty Oak".

Ingenious idea! Will definitely want to see what you come up with when you are finished with this project. Makes me wonder if other countries have national woods... Chuck

I can't believe how bad my pecan stash rotted! You can use them though no doubt. Just donate to the site using the donate button in any amount. There will be some sexy peanuts involved . . . . .

Oops thought this was in the convo. Oh well....

if you run into a problem getting a piece of bristle cone pine for nevada let me know. i am fairly sure i picked up a piece in the wash with the chamise 2 weeks ago

My pile of pecan is almost all rotten! My tin blew off the stack and pecan is not an outdoor wood. Did manage to get you some pieces though barely.
