@Molokai I was about to put this in the auction when I remembered you said you'd consider FBE for our trade. If you ever wanted some this is the one. This stuff is gnarly sick uber cool. It sucked up a ton of resin and is very hard. It is stabilized with Ultraseal the same stuff Scott uses. It weighed exactly 1 pound before it went in the vat and now weighs 1 pound 12.7 ounces.

I had to chamfer the edges to get it in the small tank. And you can see it has a couple of cracks, but I doubt they'll be a problem for you to CA or fill with turquoise etc. or work around. Stabilized FBE polishes up real nice. If for some reason this won't work for you don't hesitate to pass - the auction guys will eat it up.

I don't know what this is I just tossed it in the vat to take up space. But it's hard as a rock I couldn't dent it with a chainsaw tool using a good amount of pressure. It will fall in the box if it looks good to you . . .

Tom I know you don't like curly koa in fact I think you used the "H" word (proof that you are not exactly sane) . . .

But do you also hate tight-eyed amboyna?

Hard to see but it's in there.

I love those woods..... thx Kevin.
That is some super sick FBE.

Yes, its similar but not the same. I think it's harder. Nothing against curtis, as I use cactus juice mostly... but Scott turned me on to ultraseal when he did some for me before I got set up. Talk about rock hard.

The need to keep it stored at 68 degrees to prevent it from setting up,wouldn't work here in the summer. Even if it was refrigerated, it sounds like it would start setting up while in the chamber.

Have you ever used any Tom? I have had it in my shop when it was nearly 80 and it didn't setup. I don't see how it could ever be transported if it were to set up at 68 degrees. I will run some tests and see where it actually sets up so misinformation doesn't get going.

I seriously doubt that it'll have any effects. Heck, Curtis suggests keeping CJ out of hot shops as well. I Forget what temp he says to avoid, but I keep mine in the house during the summer months just as a precaution. I'd say you'd have to get well over 100 to start having hardening issues.

I have had juice get hard in the container before but not from Curtis or Ultraseal or Gator Venom. US is the only one of those 3 that comes precat but I have had CJ and GV sit in the tank after catalyzing for long periods and never had a problem. The stuff some of us were getting from up north turned out to be a fairly common occurrence though. I've not heard anyone having a problem with it with US.

It sounded like the Ultraseal is premixed? I think it was 3:00 am when I was reading it:sarcastic: . This nasty cold/flu is humdinger

I was wondering about the whole transport thing myself. Thanks for clearing that up Kevin. Makes sense.
