I have plenty of pen blanks, Ralph, but I just can't pass up nicely spalted wood. Those dimensions are a bit big for pens and a lot of wood will be dust on the floor. 7/8 x 7/8 x 5 1/4 is big enough for most all large pens. 3/4 square is fine for regular sized things.

Oh yea! We also call em Leeks. The same time trout season opens here you can pick them, morels and catch a fresh trout for dinner. I dont eat the trout personally but it's a staple opening weekend trout season dinner for many of my buddies.

Trout season? You have a season for trout? So happy to live in Montana right now.
