Christine, and so you see that there is an interest in your wood. Take pics of what you have to sell and start threads so people can see what you have, also because people want to see exactly what they are buying. I bet you can sell a lot here, it will help you and our community here. Our rules are really very simple once you get used to them. The rules are in place to benefit and protect all that are involved. Also when you start threads and questions might be asked others on the forum will explain things and help you along. That's how we do things here.:ok:

P.S. burls of any kind are pretty easy to save and will always sell.

Christine - Welcome from New York. I don't see what anyone would accomplish by posting pics of wood you don't have and no one can buy or barter for. Try posting pics of pieces you do have in the for sale section. Put a price on them and see how you do.

So you're saying I should make our guys save stuff(which we are paying them to do) , and hopefully someone wants it? So hopefully we will recoup that half hour of pay? It amazes me that this is sensible to some. Y'all must be big spenders? ***joking*** it has to be worth it for both parties.

And if we do save stuff, how would I even know how to price it? I wouldn't be bartering since I don't want any of what we have an over abundance of. Haha

Cristine, I think it's pretty evident this site isn't for you. You seem to think that we the staff, who are not paid a dime ever, and who volunteer our time everyday to run this site, should allow you to come onto this forum and use it the way you deem necessary so you can make loads of money on our dime, and our time. Would you remove peoples trees for free? What if you did but they griped about the way you did it anyway?

There is a site suited to your needs and I hope you will use it and if you have any gripes about "that" site they have a customer service department second to none I hear.

HERE IS THE SITE FOR YOU.

WB was not tailor made for you Cristine and we won't change it so it makes sense to you and only you. It has to make sense to all of us, too. Wishing you all the best.

:sarcastic: It makes more sense than posting something you don't have. If we start posting stuff we don't have that went in the chipper its basically story hour.
So lets say you have a burl of maple. You want to sell it - (Assuming thats why your here) and you post it for sale for $7 bdff. I still don't know what it looks like. Is it spalted? Is it curly? quilted? Mineral stained? I won't know and you won't know if its $5 or $15 a board foot wood without seeing the figure and grain. I could potentially order 10 board feet of tiger maple for a project I'm building and get knots and bark inclusions because I have not seen what I'm buying. In my mind its like buying a couch in a box - sight unseen.
That's why we have the rules we have and they make sense to us. I'm sorry if to doesn't work for you.
