Good to hear info about Starlink. First feedback I’ve heard. Chuck
I’ve been using the home Starlink for about 3.5 years. It is fantastic, especially in areas without cable service. Of course I’m not a gamer and don’t stretch the bandwidth so I can’t really judge on those terms, but I work from home, stream movies and am on a tablet or phone with my wife at the same time and we normally don’t see any buffering. Matter of fact, I can’t prove that any buffering was due to Starlink. And weather, snow or rain, doesn’t matter. There was an issue with Starlink networks and they were offline or intermittent service for a few hours ….can’t even remember when.
I am a total fan.
Both, recreation and fishing. It is catch and release. With so little snowpack the rivers just never had enough water. Then higher than usual temps were driving river temperatures into the high 60s or higher. Might have started voluntary non-fishing after 2 or so as the day warms up (what we had in our area) but they (not sure who “they” are) decided on full closure. Not sure why they closed recreational use such as tubing and rafting. I mean no fun on low water, but that regulates itself.

Low flow would likely be slow flow and in many ways safer. However, if too slow, stagnet water breeds higher risk to human users. Users also create more dissolved oxygen, but create more evaporation too. The famous catch 22.... I think the closer is meant to simply remove any stresses we create.
Low snow pack levels result in a compounding set of problem for salmonids. Low runoff means slow flow which means less turbulence which means less dissolved oxygen. Low flows also allow the sun to heat up slower moving pools which also means the water has less ability to contain dissolved oxygen. Less oxygen means the fish struggle to breath which puts stress on their systems. Hooking a fish under those conditions is more likely to push the fish over the threshold at which it can recover, combined with the less than optimal water conditions and fish mortality increases significantly. Most salmonids don't do well in water temperatures above 65, and above 75 becomes critical for them. Additionally, when the water warms up like that, the fish go find the coldest part of the stream they can find and hide out, conserve energy, and only come out at night to eat, so fishing typically isn't very good anyway.
