How's your weather treating you?

Getting our first taste of real winter. Half inch of rain yesterday followed by snow flurries this morning. Windchill of about 20°, and actual temps won't reach above freezing for the next day or so.

Of course it's too early for real winter, predicting 70° on Saturday for a 1 day warmup.

Been in the the 40's and 50's most days this month. Start the day in a jacket and morph to a tee-shirt and back to jacket. Have a wood fire in the morning to chase off the dampness and sometimes at night. Haven't used a lick of firewood from the sheds, just using the bark, sticks, and small branches as the dead ash trees around the house slowly lose their battle with gravity. However the strong winds did speed up the time-line for many of them.

Was out with the fire company all day and evening Friday cleaning up fallen trees and reporting wires down. On a good note, got the Wheel Horse plow back from the welder and it is ready. (in other post may have mentioned an ash tree fell and creamed my truck cap, grazed and broke my snowmobile hood and "V"-dented the Wheel Horse plow)

Speaking of ash, we are lucky in that we don't have a lot of them in our immediate area. Just a weird confluence of ancient geology. Go ten miles east and timber areas are full of ash. Nearby towns also planted many ash, but nearly all those have been removed.

First snow of the year, a couple inches.
Hard to belive I was riding the motorcycle last week. Might warm into the 50s by the end of the week. Kinda early for snow.
Woke up to this.......

I wish we had snow and cold. In southern Colorado and didn’t even put my orange vest on. Too warm even though mornings are in the mid-twenties at 9000 feet or so. But just a dusting of snow up high, not enough to get the elk moving yet. I heard there were better elk 2 weeks ago, guess it was tail end of rut for them.

Gorg weather though for middle of November if you weren’t trying to hunt.

We got our first snow of the season, last night into this morning. Guessing 14-15" total, wet & heavy. Spiraled down Lake Michigan. 50f water temp nailed us. By the time i got the driveway blown and the decks shoveled--i was too tired to take any pics!!

And...effectively gone 60 hours later!! That was an amazingly orderly melt-down. Should be above 60f on Saturday.

Predicting to open Mt Bachelor Ski area on Nov 28. Not sure they'll make that unless we get a spell of colder, wetter weather. Lots of clouds, just not enough wet.

Our first real snow is trying to get started. Sure looks like winter out there and this white stuff keeps somewhat falling.
