How's your weather treating you?

Had to run to town this afternoon, and the township hasn't/probably won't plow. Most of the 4 miles of the township roads were OK, but there were 4 spots almost didn't get through. Somebody had driven a tractor through, so there were paths, problem was snow between the wheel tracks was deeper than clearance and one lane only. Steered up on top of the drifts and used momentum to get through before everything bottomed out.

Just happy we only got a few inches rather than the 30" plus in some areas of Wisconsin.

I don't know exactly how much we got here, the last number I heard was 20" and it was still snowing a little after that, so probably in the neighborhood of 22" where we're at. Friends of ours just a little north, up in Door County, got more than 30".

We're all opened up. The 50 mile drive I had to make this morning was less than fun - plenty of snow pack still on the road in many places the plow just couldn't get. Plus light rain this morning that is freezing as soon as it hits the ground, so the roads are super slick.

I really hate the rain snow combination. Our worst is we one of those warm days that heats up the road so that when the snow starts falling it melts, and there is this nice ice layer under the snow. Been the case this winter. Be safe Matt.
 
Meanwhile, the weekend weather aberration here that brought temps down to the 30s is over. Today will reach a high of 75. Perfect Spring weather. Chuck
 
Oh, and Green Bay had their biggest fire in nearly 30 years, starting on Monday, while the storm was still going. Gotta give it to those guys who were out there in the snow and wind with that... Fighting the biggest fire your city's seen in nearly 30 years in the midst of the worst blizzard/snowstorm that's hit in a long while...
 
5 " snow Sunday into Monday, 7° Monday night. Today, 80° with 25% humidity, so decided to do some burning. Ornamental grass patch that gets bigger and bigger every year.

We got to 81F today, old record was 74 back in 1977. Pretty darn warm for March 19. Had to mow my lawn already and turn on my sprinkler system.
 
High 70s and at least one 80 degree day down in the Springs. No hint of our good March storms. 2 fires burning in our area. Thankfully no threat to us, but bad sign for our season.
 
It'll get to 81 today. Must be spring is here or just about. Driving around, you can smell all the poisons being sprayed on lawns by the pros!
 
I turned my sprinkler system on yesterday, pretty sure we won't get a hard freeze any more and my lawn is growing already. Guess now I need to fertilize it, which will make it grow even more, which means I'll have to mow it more.... at least my ancient Craftsmen mower still starts on the first pull. Had to pull and clean the plug on my Stihl edger before it would run.

If you want a peach to try, look for the latest blooming one that is still rated for your region. 'Contender' is one of the later blooming ones that produces great fruit.
