@Eric Rorabaugh An excellent and very fair question!
I'm not looking for a particular size or for any specific project. I seek interesting pieces of wood (LV among them!), and then find a project that features their best qualities. I recently encountered a beautiful GREEN green specimen of LV, and it got my wheels turning.

Some of my best art pieces have come from random, "unique" pieces of wood that I was not expecting.
Thanks!

I have a 6" wide by 3/4ths thick piece of sapwood riddled with torpedo borer damages.

@Mr. Peet
I'd be happy to see a photo of it. Is it sapwood ONLY, or is it a mix of sap and heartwood?
(And, perhaps we should take this to a new thread out of respect for the others who started it...)
