Sounds good to me, I have a few I could measure up as well and see if I have sizes other than yours. I likely only have 6 to 10 depending on how my memory works at to where I stored stuff ...Seems like not as many planemakers on here- but thoughts on adding blank sizes for standard planes and/or molding planes? I have some info from my own research i can consolidate and shoot over.
I'm sorry, I missed this one. I'll get on it this weekend.Good list, the only thing I would add is a turkey call striker blank: 1x1x8
If you want to pass on the info, please do. I'll add it in.Seems like not as many planemakers on here- but thoughts on adding blank sizes for standard planes and/or molding planes? I have some info from my own research i can consolidate and shoot over.
How about 1 x 6 x 6 for saw handles and 1.25 x 1.25 x 7 for turned chisel/rasp/file/etc handles?

I'm good for it once in a whileFinally getting some work out of you!
The "irish flute" that you are referring to is actually the irish tin whistle/penny whistle (sometimes made from wood). A true irish transverse flute (low D) is usually at least 55 cm long and often longer up to 65 for very thin bore diameters. Low whistles are of a similar size. For the tuning joint I usually needed 2-3 cm extra which is why I used stock that was 70 cm long. That is 27 1/2 inches long. Keyed transverse flutes need more thickness for the pivots. I don't know how much this is as I only made one or two and that was a decade ago. I liked 5 cm or 2 inches for wall thickness so for low irish whistles. Can I provide some flute blanks sizes please?
For Native American-style flutes this is the overall size; they are made from a pair of blanks each half this size (so 1 x 1 x 12" comes from two pieces @ 1/2 x 1 x 12").
There's a little wiggle room depending on wall thickness. The exact key will depend on the wood.
Native American-style in high A (bottom note A5; 3/8" bore) 8-10 x 3/4 x 3/4"
Native American-style in high E (E5; 1/2" bore) 11-14 x 1 x 1"
Native American-style in A (A4; 3/4" bore) 16-18 x 1.25 x 1.25"
For other wooden flutes the sizes are something like this, though I haven't done them myself.
Irish flute/piccolo/soprano flute 12-14 x 1 x 1"
Alto flute 23 x 2 x 2"
Tenor flute 30 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/2"
Nice thanks. I actually took the Irish flute size from Espen. I'll have to look into the Irish transverse, sounds interesting. The "irish flute" that you are referring to is actually the irish tin whistle/penny whistle (sometimes made from wood). For the final dimensions we have:
70 cm by 5cm square
27 1/2 by 2' square
Duck calls are e pieces
