Hi @JD1137 thanks for keeping an eye on things. I’m one of those buyers who almost always wants to know the type of wood and usually more specifically the species name. Whenever I show a piece I’ve turned to my friends or family the first question they ask is what kind of wood is it? In the case of the makore bowl blank I was willing to buy it because I found it so beautiful, but I’m definitely in the camp that wants to know what I’m buying. When I get the mokore, I’ll do some end grain analysis of my own but decided it was beautifully enough that I wanted it to regardless of it was Makore, sapelle or mahogany, or even something else entirely.
P.s. By the way, two really beautiful bowls I’ve turned came from cores you sold me. One was spalted hackberry and the other was a walnut crotch. Not sure if you remember them, but I bought them from you together at the same time. Many thanks again @JD1137 !
