It all depends on the market. Where you're selling, who you're selling to, type of wood and want of the purchaser. I take a lot of local wood (to me) when I go to SWAT. I figure my cost of the wood and all my time and expenses into the price. Could I sell it here locally for that....heck no. Buyers here can go around to about anywhere and find a few pieces to turn. Now some stuff I get is just not readily available but not impossible. That price of the spalted maple is extremely high IMO but they may have found a buyer that cost is not an issue. If I had it, depending on the amount of spalt, $30-$40 would probably be what I'd price. Remember, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay
