Heck, Mississippi isn't even on the list. What happened there? I am surprised by the amount of peanuts grown here. What I found funny about the article is that they used pounds instead of tons or bushels like they usually do on stuff of that scale. Interesting anyway.
I read an article once that indicated that Peanuts were a staple food for some of the Rebels during the Civil War. They called them, "Nutritious little buggers", but I may have made a typo. It could be "boogers" since it is attributed to a Southerner.
