Completed a 7 3/4” Shedua bowl from a blank that came with the used Powermatic lathe I bought a couple years ago. The blank was very dry. It turned nicely, but sanding the end grain was a bugger, probably because it was so dry. I finished the bowl with 8+ coats of Wipe-on Poly Gloss, followed by 3 coats of Renaissance Wax. Very pleased with the end result. Chuck IMG_4114.webp IMG_4115.webp

I like it the bowl and wood. I did like the oil finish you did a while back more though.
I had started this finish some time ago, way prior to the previous bowl. I have more forthcoming in the days ahead with various finishes. Chuck

Nice Chuck - you've been busy hammering out some bowls recently. Having a grand time, aren't you?? Good stuff!
Thanks! Had to justify buying the Powermatic! More to come in the days ahead. I have a ton of blanks, including many exotics, and curious to see how they all turn. Also have a few much larger blanks to tackle. Think my comfort level has improved significant enough to step up the complexity of turnings. I’m working on other non-lathe projects, as well, and will reveal those in time. Think I’ve decided, as well, to delve into box making very soon. Chuck
