Most, not all of my bowls are twice turned and that is the best shape I have found to be consistent with the thickness so the bowl doesn't crack while drying. I'm not too fond of large flat-bottom bowls. I like that shape if I'm going to put a lid on it and make it a box. I have done a few other shapes recently, but this is the go-to. And the customer doesn't get bored with it because they only buy one or two.Another great looking bowl Jon!
Question; This shape of your posted bowls is consistently the same, is this just the style you like or have you found that customers prefer this shape?
I only sleep 4-5 hours now. I have a Circadian Rhythm Disorder, I can't sleep until I've been up 19-20 hours. They don't know why, but could be related to having had many concussions in the past.Beautiful
But this was posted at 2:44 a.m.. Jon, do you sleep?
I totally understand the drying effort. On the rim, have you thought about a longer taper so that it has no edge but slides right into the bowl, kinda like how glenn Lucas does. Might make your customers fall in love a bit faster when they do that finger/hand rub on the inside.I only sleep 4-5 hours now. So when they drop it, it breaks? A fine line between Art and practical function.I totally understand the drying effort.
