Siberian Elm Bowl

Another great looking bowl Jon!
Question; This shape of your posted bowls is consistently the same, is this just the style you like or have you found that customers prefer this shape?

Most, not all of my bowls are twice turned and that is the best shape I have found to be consistent with the thickness so the bowl doesn't crack while drying. I'm not too fond of large flat-bottom bowls. I like that shape if I'm going to put a lid on it and make it a box. I have done a few other shapes recently, but this is the go-to. And the customer doesn't get bored with it because they only buy one or two.

Beautiful

But this was posted at 2:44 a.m.. Jon, do you sleep?
I only sleep 4-5 hours now. I have a Circadian Rhythm Disorder, I can't sleep until I've been up 19-20 hours. They don't know why, but could be related to having had many concussions in the past.

I totally understand the drying effort. On the rim, have you thought about a longer taper so that it has no edge but slides right into the bowl, kinda like how glenn Lucas does. Might make your customers fall in love a bit faster when they do that finger/hand rub on the inside.😃

So when they drop it, it breaks? A fine line between Art and practical function.
