What did you do in your shop today?

By the way, are those found points or did you do them start to finish? Really like that tabletop!
All 52 points are made by me and my wife. Her's is the glass one at 4 o'clock.

As far as the top, that ring has 10 pieces of 3/32 Oak that was glued and then strap-clamped to the table. The points were then laid out on a 24" concrete saw blade, and then poured the epoxy. It wasn't the right epoxy as it has shrunk some and is lower than the wood border.

Then, the epoxy did something on the Obsidian Points at 10 and 1 o'clock. The point under the ball at 7 O'clock also had something happen. The epoxy didn't like something that could possibly be on the surface of the points. .................. Jerry (in Tucson)

Apparently, Spectra Chrome is the only one doing it because they were the only company to come up in my search.

My post above has a concept of what it is supposed to be. All thread rod through the pieces with 3/4" tube spacers different lengths.

As far as the finish holding up over time, that's something for me to see. But, time better hurry as I don't have a whole lot left, I think. They do several things to seal the wood, and I know Epoxy is one of the things, and then the final is a spray. ........... Jerry (in Tucson)
Probably some kind of process like when they do those copper plated baby shoes.

I've even seen them chrome plate a bear or dog skull.

Well, if you can’t tell, the planer did not get mounted to the flip cart. 😂. But this does get the spindle sander out of a cabinet, I still got rid of a stand that did not have wheels, which cleared roughly 6 square feet of floor which was the goal!!!!

Still need to make the drawer and do some finish work. But nice project for the shop.

Completed this trivet today, finally. In essence a simple project that should have taken a couple hours not including glue time. It took me, well, significantly longer. I made every mistake, some twice. You know those guys that never looked at the map or asked directions? We are also the ones that don’t read instructions carefully.

Ha!
There are a bazillion options for trivets, most can be found on YouTube. Found this one via Rockler.

Instructions/plans are for those with no imagination!

I’m determined to finished that second kitchen stool that’s been sitting on the bench in pieces for about a year. Rounding over the edges on the legs today. 2 done, 1 to go.

Well, just didn’t want to continue in the coldest part of shop so built this idea for a bandsaw sled for round stock.

Think my concept is correct, but not happy with my execution……. Will put a few more brain cells onto version 2.0.
